The Proud Duo is pleased to present two new works for Oboe and Saxophone: Dawn to Dusk by Filipe Leitao, and Dva Gledista by Brian Kershner. Both pieces were completed in 2017 and add unique musical voices to the repertoire for this ensemble.

Ensemble Bio:
Oboist Teodora Pejasinovic Proud and saxophonist Joseph Proud began performing together as the Proud Duo in early 2017. Their work together has led to performances at the 2017 NASA Region 6 conference, 2017 NACWPI National conference, and the 2018 NASA Biennial conference. Both Doctoral candidates at the University of Alabama, Teodora and Joseph are working to commission new works for oboe and saxophone, as well as performing transcriptions of works by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Poulenc, and Musgrave. Teodora Pejasinovic Proud is an oboist from Serbia, and worked with the Montenegro Symphony Orchestra before coming to the United States. Joseph Proud is originally from Connecticut, and has worked in a variety of genres, most recently performing as a soloist with the Huxford Symphony Orchestra in March 2018. The Proud Duo is committed to expanding their repertoire by combining their different cultural backgrounds.
