Artist Bio
Students at Kennesaw State University (KSU), clarinetist Matthew Hodgetts and
saxophonist Jonathan Steltzer formed the Firetruck duo in 2017 to perform programs of new works including commissioning 7 pieces. The duo performed at the Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium, National Conference on Undergraduate Research and the American Single Reed Summit and are winners of the KSU Concerto Competition and an honorable mention at the 2017 International Duo Symposium. Clarinetist Matthew Hodgetts is an active clarinetist in the Atlanta Metro as a manager of the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony and intern for Conn Selmer’s Youth Bands of Atlanta and studies with John Warren. Jonathan studies with Sam Skelton and has won top prizes including a winner of the Ronald Sachs International Music Competition, finalist and performer at North American Saxophone Alliance regional competition and conferences, and 2nd place at the Samuel Fordis Young Artist Competition.
